So you're interested in becoming an NDS practitioner.
Here's what you need to know.
I've done the hybrid course - you must have attended the hybrid (in-person and online) course provided by a local host and taught by a local instructor or Michael Shacklock. In this case, you will get discounted access to the next course which is on the 'practitioner' pathway. This is actually the same course as the online part of the hybrid upper and lower quarter 1 course (nothing is different) but it has more compulsory sections and tests, ending with a live exam.
Here is what you get:
- discounted on account of you having attended the hybrid course
- tests after most videos, including the practical demonstrations of the techniques
- tests on the technique videos include: where your body and hands go, what movements to do and how you do them
- final exam (approx. 60 mins, live online, or in-person, depending on logistics), in addition to the course curriculum and tests
- testing of your reasoning, technique selection and performance
- live online, or in-person, depending on logistics
- 6 months access so you can prepare well for the final examination.
OR:
This is my first course - is this your first course? No problem, you can still become an NDS practitioner and here are the course features:
- online portion is not discounted
- most sections are compulsory and tested
- main exam in addition to online curriculum (approx. 60 mins)
- tests of your reasoning and technique selection and performance
- live online, or in-person, depending on logistics)
- 6 months access so you can prepare well for the final examination.
Benefits of Practitioner Certification
This gives you much greater ability to reason through patient problems and decide on safe and appropriate treatment, not to mention specificity and precision in your manual skills and WHEN NOT TO DO NEURODYNAMICS!
You will have had this happen:
Patient : "I did a search and found that this is the best treatment for my problem. Do you do that?"
Your thought: "Please don't mistake Google for my degree".
Two of the most important benefits a trained professional has over the information highway are: abilities in decision-making and skills in the 'doing' part of management. Information is NOT KNOWING.
Information requires experience to lead to knowledge. But skills are the next level and research is starting to show that skilled and more highly developed clinicians produce better clinical outcomes than less experienced practitioners.
This course is about skills, their application and your reasoning and ability to perform techniques accurately. So you are tested on these aspects, not just how you remember the information. It's a great learning experience and we're here to help if you need it.
Some say it's a foundational course that affects many aspects of their clinical practice in addition to neurodynamics.
We hope to see you as an NDS practitioner soon!
