This book has recently been released and, several years in the making, promises to break new ground in the field of clinical application of neurodynamics. It presents:

Newly conceived dysfunctions that relate the musculoskeletal system to the neural system, making use of mechanics and physiology of the nervous system true to the original concept of neurodynamics in Shacklock's paper in Physiotherapy (1995).

A new and modified movement diagram that relates foraminal dynamics to the nerve root is illustrated to help the clinician conceptualise spinal function in relation to its potential for neural consequences.

A new system of diagnostic classifications which supports some aspects of adverse neural tension whilst adding new classifications such as neural sliding dysfunctions, mechanical interface dysfunctions, mechanosensitivity dysfunction and neurogenic inflammation dysfunction.

A new progressional system of physical examination and treatment that is designed to help the clinician examine neural tissues conveniently and effectively without provoking symptoms. The system also helps the clinician find the hidden neural component that is often missed because neurodynamic testing is not quite sensitive or specific enough.

Systematic progression of treatment for specific syndromes based on causative mechanisms in conditions such as the cervical and lumbar nerve root, cervicogenic headache, thoracic outlet syndrome; supinator, pronator, carpal tunnel and piriformis and tarsal tunnel syndromes, to name a few.

Moving in on Pain was created as a record of the world's first multidisciplinary international conference on pain held by the physiotherapy profession. Held in Adelaide, 1995, it brought together the professions of physiotherapy, medicine, psychology, occupational therapy and art therapy and hosted clinicians and scientists from all over the world. Authors such as Professors Patrick Wall, Michael Cousins, George Mendelson, Anthony Wright, Jenny Strong, Mary Galea and Marcello Costa presented their cutting edge knowledge on the causes and treatment of pain. Other authors who gave papers were Dr Milton Cohen, Robert Elvey, David Butler, Helen Slater, Peter Edgelow, Michael Shacklock, Dr Patricia Roche and Louis Gifford, Dr Bill Vicenzino and Ian Beith and others.
